Red

The color red, from Proto-Indo-European reudh-, is a bright, warm color resembling blood or the highest part of the primary rainbow. It is a sensual color which is predominately associated with matters of the physical and the primal. It is loud and attention-grabbing, which can either attract via primal desire or repel via primal fear. The creative energies associated with it are largely sensual or sexual, and control gained from it is driven by such desire.

Orange

Moving away from red, orange maintains its vitality while becoming more friendly. It is still an authority figure as far as colors go, but a much more approachable one. Still, it can at times be controversial and bold, making it perfect for catching attention. Moreover, orange is a color – funnily enough, given its namesake – which stimulates appetite. It is a friendly enough color to promote positive, motivated energy within the home but a dominant enough energy to promote respect and influence within the world and workplace.

Yellow

It is the perfect color for combatting stagnation or blockages, especially when paired with the initial push that can be provided by red or orange. While it can aid in any situation regarding communication, knowledge, and travel, it is also worth noting that the clarity it brings comes from that promotion of movement. For thorough understanding, it is best paired with a more grounding color.

Green

As it is a very slow color, pairing it with colors like yellow and blue can help prevent potential stagnation.

Blue

As we move toward more spiritual colors but maintain some of those grounding energies we saw in green, we arrive at a color which is considered clean, safe, and trustworthy. It promotes a stable growth, a progress which is balanced both physically and spiritually. In a perfect world, in which we experience the physical realm of existence while maintaining our innate spiritual nature, the energies of the color blue would be most prominent. Paired with yellow, it can be great for communal spaces.

Purple

If you are in need of grounding, this is not a color you should utilize.

Pink

As it is deeply connected to the laws which bind our physical existence, it is naturally used in many workings for justice, order, and practicality. It is often also closely connected with instinct and animals.

Black
