Description
Quartz is a hard mineral made of silica which was either named for the German ‘quarz’, meaning ‘hard’, or Saxon ‘querkluftertz’, meaning ‘cross-vein ore’. It was from Quartz that many of these beauty minerals we collect today became known as ‘crystals’. As those in Ancient Greece thought Quartz to be a form of supercooled ice, their name for the mineral was ‘krystallos’ (κρύσταλλος; from ‘krios’, meaning ‘cold’). Quartz is good for any working, but is especially good for workings related to amplification, enchantment, and cleansing.
Crystals carved into points or obelisks act as a sort of conduit or battery for the energy they align with. Keeping points or obelisks near something will naturally imbue it with that crystal’s energy. It can also be used like a wand or athame, held in your hand and out toward the point of focus you would like to send its energy into. It’s an incredible versatile and intuitive shape for any crystal in your collection. This particular lot contains a couple of very large, very sturdy specimens which range from approximately 11.3″ to approximately 12″.
💡 The Witch’s Recommendations: Quartz is an incredible stone. Not only can it easily take on the energy of any intention you put into it (making it a perfect substitute for any crystal you may not have), but it also naturally amplifies the energy in and around it. I have one quartz that I imbue with my own energy to serve as an amplifier of it when I’m doing workings of any kind. I have quartz points on each of my altars to amplify the energies there. Despite being less rare than many of its other crystal cousins, it still remains one of my favorite crystals for workings.
