Where are you and your shops based?

I am located in Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans. At the moment, I do not have any physical locations.

Do you have any plans to open a physical storefront?

I would absolutely love to have a physical storefront for The Witchy Housewife someday. I’m not quite there yet, but once I’ve grown to a certain goal I’ve set for myself, I do plan to start looking into it. I’m not sure if those locations will be in New Orleans or Metairie just yet; that much will depend on property pricing.

When will my order ship?

If your order was placed Monday – Thursday before 5PM CST, I will typically try to package and ship your order that same day or, during busier seasons, the next available business day. If you have placed your order after 5PM on Thursday or on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, your order will be packaged and shipped on the next available business day. Likewise, if you have placed an order on a sabbat or US holiday (including Halloween), your order will not be packaged and shipped until the next available business day. Please note that this business is a one-woman show for the moment, so there may be periods I am out of town for a window and unable to package an order or conduct a reading until my return. In such a case, I will place a notice in the header, on the homepage, and on the shop page.

Do you accept returns or refunds?

At this time, I do not accept returns or exchanges unless an order has arrived incorrect or damaged. In the case that your order has arrived in such a state, you must contact me within 30 days of purchase and be able to provide photographs of the package you received to be eligible for a refund or replacement. If your goods display signs of use, up to my discretion, a refund or replacement will not be made available. I must also be able to confirm your purchase on my end. In all other cases, all sales are final.

If you have received an incorrect item by mistake, exchanges may be made for the correct item at no extra charge to you. All I ask is that you return the incorrect item which was received with a USPS shipping label which will be paid for and provided to you. Upon receiving the returned item, the shipment of the correct item will be packaged and sent out within the next available office hour. You will be notified once this shipment has been dropped off and a tracking number will be provided.

Full refunds are only available at this time for goods and services cancelled within a specific timeframe of your purchase. As many orders are processed during my next available office hour, cancellations will only be accepted for a window of one (1) hour from the moment your order placed. Refunds will not be made available beyond this cancellation window.

I made a mistake with my address. Can I change it?

To be absolutely certain that your package is rerouted, please contact me within one (1) hour after placing your order with the incorrect address. After this period is up, I cannot guarantee that your package has not be sent off to the post office, at which point, it will be in the hands of USPS. If a package does not arrive due to an incorrect address, you will, unfortunately, have to place a new order.

Do you ship outside of the United States?

At this time, I only offer my products and services within the United States. I would eventually like to expand my reach, but as I do all of the taxes and shipment myself, it would be very difficult for me to manage without some additional assistance.

Can I use (shop item) if I am pregnant/have pets?

The herbal ingredients for my herbal products are typically listed in the product description, with a few out-of-house made brands as exceptions. Along with that, I do try to note if it may cause issues for pregnant women, cats, and dogs. Still, you should always consult your doctor regarding herbal interactions while pregnant and your veterinarian regarding herbal interactions with pets in the home.

I’m allergic to (ingredient). Can I still order from you?

Always read the description of a product before purchasing. The herbal ingredients for my herbal products are typically listed in the product description, with a few out-of-house made brands as exceptions. That said, all of my products are handled by the same hands in the same space, so this may depend on the severity of a particular allergy. If you are uncertain about whether I work with a particular allergen, contact me.

Have you considered selling (item/offering/service)?

I am always open to suggestions for new products and services! If there is something you are looking for that you can’t find at a reasonable price or can’t find at all anywhere else, feel free to contact me!

Do you take customized orders?

If I offer any customized order options, they will be available in the Intuitive Services category.

How do I use (shop item)?

I offer recommendations for how products may be used, along with an Energy Key reference for my Energy Key System, in the descriptions of my products. That said, how you use them is ultimately up to you.

How can I book a reading or spiritual service with you?

All of my intuitive services are available here over on The Witchy Housewife emporium. Alternatively, if you’re interested in a regular monthly service, I offer monthly energy forecast readings and monthly pick-a-card readings on my Monthly Blessings Patreon for as little as $4.44 per month with single purchase options available the Patreon’s shop.

Are you currently hiring? When will you be hiring?

No, I am not currently hiring. That said, as with my storefront, I have a certain goal to hit at which point I will begin looking into opening up some positions for artists, writers, editors, marketers, and other assistants to help me with my projects and websites. Being able to hire folks is actually one of my bigger goals right now, because I have this silly little dream of wanting to set the standards for employer practices. I want to have a culture that is comfortable to work in, a set of policies that are flexible and allow employees to be able to tend to their own lives when needed, a livable wage or salary, and incredible benefits. I will not permit myself to hire until I am able to comfortably tick all of those boxes.

How do I find out when new content/products/services are available?

You can subscribe to the blog to receive new articles and updates the moment I post them. You can also follow me on my social media platforms – all of which are linked in the footer of this website and in my personal website’s Link Compendium. For keeping up to date on absolutely everything from the moment it is posted instead of waiting for my larger updates, my Tumblr is going to be your best bet.

Why do you work with manufacturing partners for certain products?

While I do a majority of the work you’ll see around here myself for the moment, there are certain things that I feel necessary to use a manufacturer for until I can comfortably offer a similar quality product myself. I try to be as ethical about manufacturing as possible by choosing those who are based in the US. I am always on the lookout for new and better manufacturers, as well, while still keeping my products as affordable as possible. I also purchase stock for resale, mostly from smaller companies with a few larger ones for products I cannot find from smaller companies to make available at a good price.

Why do you charge money for (product/service)? It should be free!

As an artist and as someone running a metaphysical business, this is a question I see a nauseating amount. I hear things like, “It won’t take you that long!” and “You shouldn’t charge for a skill/talent/gift you were give for free!” and “If you’re such a skilled witch, why don’t you simply manifest your money?” and “[Other person] offers this for so much cheaper!“, and I’m going to respond to all of those comments right here. I charge for my crafts and services, first and foremost, because being a member of society is not free. And for all of the free things I make publicly available (of which there are a great many), the web hosting is also not free. Life is finite, and therefore, borrowing someone’s time and energy for the sake of a craft or service is a commodity. The value we place on that commodity is money, because that allows the person who expended that time and energy to go and keep a roof over their heads and a warm meal in their bellies. I recognize that we have a lot of greed in the world, but I strive to be countercultural to such workplace environments. I would appreciate not being grouped in with them. Likewise, there is a lot of entitlement to people’s time and energy online, seemingly as a response to this greater culture of corporate greed. Again, though, I am not of that culture.

If you feel like what I do is so easy and takes so little time, you may feel absolutely free to take care of those needs for yourself. If you feel like what I do isn’t a fair price because someone else charges less than I do, then you may feel absolutely free to give your money to that person instead. I do my best to balance fair pricing with an equally fair wage for myself. Too often, I have seen the art world in particular be negatively affected by places like Fiverr and by newer artists undervaluing their work. Craftspeople deserve a livable wage, and if you don’t agree with this belief, you should not be seeking out the time and energy craftspeople.

Finally, I want to also address the very condescending suggestion that selling my work is a result of being “unable to manifest money”. Magick takes the path of least resistance whenever able. Do you know what closing off all potentially reliable streams of income does to your money magick? It puts up more resistance. Therefore, opening up all possible streams of income does the opposite. Divine Alchemy is the joining of the Active and the Passive. Charging for my work is a part of my money magick.

Are you open to a good/service trade?

This is highly dependent upon the good or service being asked for and the good or service being offered in return. In fact, depending on what specifically you’re looking to trade, this question may already be answered in my Delegate Program. How can I commission you for artwork/writing/an article?

Information, pricing, contract terms, and applications are all available here on Dezydration Station. Additionally, I sometimes have premade YCH (Your Character Here) commissions, Adoptables, and Artwork Bundles available in my art shop at a discounted rate compared to a fully custom commission project.

What tools do you use for your artwork/crafting/witchcraft?

Can I host an article on your blog?

I am indeed open to hosting guest-written articles on relevant topics at this time! I do charge a small flat fee to host each guest-written article, and there are a number of requirements which must be followed for your article to quality. Do you do any other types of collaborations?

Besides guest article hosting, I am also open to collaborating on audio content, video content, artwork, and literary projects. Do you have any tutorials on (skill)? Do you offer mentorship?

All of the information I publicly share can be found on my social media and websites as listed here. If there is a particular thing which is not available on those places, feel free to contact me and I may add it to my list of future content. Note that I am not obligated to offer tutorials, courses, or articles just because I have received a request, however. At this time, I do not offer artwork, writing, or spiritual mentorship, though I am eventually planning on offering something similar for spiritual growth sometime in the future. Just as a reminder, though, at this time (and so long as I am able to manage the amount of emails coming in), I have an open email policy and am happy to answer spiritual questions via my contact form.

Why do you believe in (belief)? Are you a grifter?

Since I started kindergarten, I have been teased, put down, or berated for various interests and beliefs. I was bullied by other students (and even one teacher) in school for enjoying academics. I was condescended by people I trusted for things like my romanticization of life. I’ve been scolded many, many times by strangers on the internet for various metaphysical beliefs I have, often by people who themselves believe in other weird things. And, of course, as I think most people have now, I have been shouted at and sent wonderfully graphic threats for baseless assumptions. Thus, this is a question I am including in this FAQ, and the answer is quite simple: If I share something here, I believe in it, regardless of whether or not you believe in it. On the other hand, if I don’t share something here, any notions you may have about where I stand on those beliefs are without substance – and you can ask me about them, but I am not obligated to respond. I am not a “grifter”, as this new and excited branch of cancel culture calls it. Further, I am human and allowed to be wrong and change my mind about things with new information and experiences.

Do you use AI? What are your thoughts on AI?

As someone who has been deeply affected by the creation and development of genAI, I am not the biggest fan of it. More accurately, I am not the biggest fan of the effect it has had. That said, I do think it is here to stay and recognize that it is difficult to avoid given its near-universal implementation at this point. I also do think that AI technology, in general, does have the potential to be a beneficial tool when used ethically, as many pieces of technology do. I only hope that we can move away from the training of it on stolen content, deprioritize it in the face of the work of real people, mitigate the use of it for creative projects which should be made by human hands, hearts, and minds, and minimize the environmental impact. In general, I do not approve of all of these AI data centers operated by large megacorporations with little regard the land and the people who live on it. That said, I do not and will never use AI in my artwork, writing, and crafting. I don’t believe these things should ever be AI-generated, and certainly not without transparency about its use when sharing it online. I do, however, use Canva and Canva’s built-in magic tools for image editing, social media content creation, and printed text-heavy content, so this would be the only place you may see any type of AI alteration. You’ll see my work in Canva, for instance, in my shop listing images. The backgrounds are created like mixed media, cutting pieces from various photographs in Canva’s library. Canva’s magic tools are used here only to improve the lighting to make the image look cohesive. The products themselves are then taken by me and pasted onto the backgrounds without any additional edits. I do not think the answer to fighting the oversaturation of the internet with AI is to go insane on the average person who uses it as long as they are disclosing the use of these tools, as this is only more likely to get you dismissed entirely when making good points. Likewise, I don’t think people who are using AI regularly are inherently evil. This is a disproportionate response, in my opinion, and I think it’s important to be level-headed in our activism. Locally run models or models from developers who make an effort to train on consensual data and make an effort to mitigate environmental impact can be a potentially great alternative to more harmful models – and, truthfully, when it comes to impact on artists and on the environment, we should always be going after those doing the most damage first and foremost: The corporations and the politicians endorsing them. Like most things, this topic is a nuanced once.

Tl;dr: I don’t use AI in any of my artwork, writing, or crafts. I do use Canva for photo editing, digital mixed media, and text-heavy design work. I hate the impact AI has had on our culture and our planet, but I do not hate the average person who uses AI. I am bothered by stealing of content for training purposes and the pollution of creative markets and the automation of every little task. I do not, however, have a visceral, foaming-at-the-mouth response to this topic, as I find it very counterproductive to meaningful conversation on the matter and a symptom of a very angry culture which chooses to direct their anger toward their fellow man than the people who are truly responsible for our problems (corporations, politicians, etc.).
