Larimar is the tradename of a type of pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic which was named for the discoverer’s daughter, Larissa, and the Spanish ‘mar’, meaning ‘sea’. Larimar is good for workings related to peacefulness, healing, inner peace, order, and creativity.

Crystals kept in a rough or raw form offer the purest form of its energy. Raw crystals will gently radiate their natural energetic signature wherever they sit. These particular lots range in size (with lots of variation due to its raw form) from approximately 1.3″ to approximately 2″ in width, with Lot 1 having the smallest specimens and Lot 3 having the largest specimens.

 The Witch’s Recommendations: Larimar is the most oceanic stone I’ve ever seen, though there are some others that do come close. They literally wear the pattern of the ocean’s surface. This is a great energy for any working that requires the energy of elemental water. It’s good for working with the fae of the water, such as mermaids, hippokampoi, and others. And, of course, it makes an incredible offering to water deities, such as Poseidon, Amphitrite, Aphrodite, and others.
