Onyx is a type of agate which was named for the Greek ‘ὄνυξ’ (onyx), meaning ‘claw’ or ‘fingernail’, due to its pink and white variety sometimes resembling a human fingernail. Onyx is good for workings related to protection, courage, binding, and endings.

Crystals carved into specific shapes and figures have the added energetic bonus of whatever symbol they are seeking to embody. Like raw crystals, carved crystals will gently radiate their energetic signature wherever they sit. This particular lot sits at approximately 2.75″ tall.

💡 The Witch’s Recommendations: I find onyx, along with obsidian, to be one of the best stones for protection by way of absorbing and neutralizing negative energy. You can enhance this by placing it near selenite, as well. Its pumpkin shape would be especially wonderful for the shadow work and introspection that comes with the dark part of the year.
