Winter is right around the corner, darlings. Sugar-glazed pine trees, distant beckoning bonfires, fairy lights trimming every rooftop. It’s a truly beautiful season of rest and recovery, gratitude and giving. And it’s unfortunate that the fast-paced world we live in, among the many other cold and corporate distractions, has held us back from truly experiencing it. I’ve got one challenge for you this season: Take a well-deserved break. And I will aim to do the same.
This year, I’ve been hard at work on conducting intuitive readings, sharing monthly readings and intuitive research on my Patreon, reworking my signature planner pages, and continuing work on my books, my art, and all my other projects. There is still so much planned for the near future that I am excited to share with you, all of which can be explored at your leisure through my personal website. For now, though, I bring you one gentle annual offering: A list of witchy gift ideas for the Winter Solstice.
Since 2020, it has been an absolute nightmare for small and local business owners. Fees and costs for materials have been skyrocketing, causing these businesses to have to charge more for products and services in order to cover those costs and still make enough of a profit to put food on the table. The change in social media algorithms has made the territory of internet advertising horrific for anyone who doesn’t already have a following – unless you dish out a ton of money, of course. Meanwhile, mega-corporations like Amazon and Disney and Walmart continue to grow and thrive. It may be too late to save small and local businesses that have already found themselves having to shut down, but putting an end to this aggressive cycle of small business failures and big business growth is possible. If you’re looking for meaningful gifts for the witches in your life, the best place to start your search is by scoping out the metaphysical shops within your area.
For those in the New Orleans area, I absolutely must plug my local favorite. If you’re up for a quick venture into Kenner, The Witch Depot is the place to go. With a wonderful and affordable selection, a helpful and friendly staff, and a delightful little atmosphere, they are – in my opinion – a much better choice than a certain other metaphysical hotspot over in the city. And for those who can’t or do not wish to make the trip but would still like to support this local treasure, their website has a lovely simplicity that makes ordering easy. I cannot recommend them enough.
For those who would prefer to shop online, I myself run three online shops through Etsy and one on Gumroad at this time, though I am looking to move away from Etsy soon (courtesy of high fees, low visibility, and a tremendous AI-generated art takeover). The Witchy Housewife currently offerings intuitive card readings, with more readings and custom blends returning in the near future. The Luxe Gothique Boutique offers my signature lifestyle designs, which fall somewhere between whimsigoth and dark academia aesthetics. The Luxe Gothique Planner, which is a subset of the aforementioned boutique, is where I am now housing my entire collection of printable planner and journal inserts. Finally, Dezy’s Dippity Dive is my newly-opened art shop.
In my article, The Newbie Witch’s Guide to Witchcraft, I mentioned that, while all you need to get started on the path of witchcraft is yourself, many people feel more comfortable having some degree of structure and find it beneficial to come into the practice with tools that have pre-established properties and associations. If you have a beginner witch in your life and you have the means to do so, a curated starter kit would be a beautiful idea for a whole slew of witchy gifts.

If you’ve got a witch in your life who’s still learning, a friend who simply enjoys studying the craft, or someone who just wants to try their hand at putting together a witch’s grimoire, I’m eager to share a passion project of mine – a massive 304-page printable DIY grimoire bundle (which is part of a larger series of planner printables if you’re looking for matching embellishments).
You then have the option of offering the gift on a cute little USB drive, having it printed professionally (preferably by a local printing company, if possible), or printing it yourself. If you do decide to go the route of printing, the pages should fit nicely into an A5-size planner binder of choice. Handmade fabric, wooden, and leather binders are wonderful choices to look into to veer away from the usual plastic and to turn your loved one’s grimoire into a complete work of art.
There are so many incredible resources out there on witchcraft, magick, and more specific religious paths like Wicca, and I’ve put together a collection of my favorite resources here on this list on Bookshop’s website. I keep this list regularly updated whenever I discover new works that I find to be helpful for every level of experience in witchcraft, magick, and Wicca.
For those on a path with a Hellenic-inspired slant, I also have a list of resources for Greek mythology, culture, and history. And for those who live in Louisiana as I do and wish to work with the land around them, I have a list of resources for Louisiana folklore and regional foraging.
You can never go wrong with candles, herbs, and crystals (so long as you’re mindful of the allergies, sensitivities, and preferences of your gift recipient). In fact, one of the things that led to the opening of The Witchy Housewife was the desire to craft my own candles, which is something I will be returning to in the near future. I have just released the first pre-made physical collection of my planner pages as a goal-oriented annual planner with a witchy slant. The daybook includes an undated yearly planner/agenda with my unique signature dark and vintage mixed media style and opens with customizable decorative pages and an overview of plans for the year ahead. This is followed by 12 months of goal setting, lunar cycle tracking, calendars, weekly spreads, and reflections. It’s perfect for witches, Wiccans, magick practitioners, and those who appreciate an aesthetic that falls somewhere between whimsigoth and dark academia. I myself am planning on using it for the 2024 calendar year.
Perhaps your gift recipient is at a distance and shipping isn’t quite so easy? An alternative option for your witchy loved ones is to present service over good. If you can manage arranging it, I think a session with a local energy healer could be quite lovely, but for places where that just isn’t possible, consider booking a distance healing session or a tarot reading session. I offer my own intuitive services with many options to choose from, if this is something that piques your curiosity – and there are many other wonderful healers and intuitives out there if I’m just not your energetic cup of tea. I’m sure most will be more than willing to accommodate your request, so long as you’re clear about the arrangement and when it will be taking place.
For a physical twist on this, there are many intuitives who will write detailed reports on their readings, which can then be printed on parchment and framed to be given as a gift. Bear in mind, though, that you may be working with multiple pages, and you may need to come up with a creative way to link them all together – such as use of matching frames or taking a sort of shadowbox approach with additional mixed media elements to bring it all together.
Perhaps the safest bet of all is beautiful artwork for display – or use, in the case of the many beautifully designed tarot and oracle decks out there. Among my favorite witchy artists out there are The Old Maiden, Jasmine Becket-Griffith, Terri Ann Foss, Aurora Eventide, and Mystic Moon Media – but there are so many more worth exploring the works of, and it all comes down to preference of style.
I would also like to mention that I have also recently opened my own art shop, though my selection has only just gotten started. A glance would still greatly be appreciated!
To wrap up our little holiday list for today, I bring you one final pool of suggestions – something a bit smaller, perfect for stuffing into stockings.

And that concludes our list for this year! Consider topping it all off with some of my signature wrapping paper from The Luxe Gothique Boutique for that finishing touch. If you’re not interested in the craft yourself, it can be difficult to find meaningful gifts for those in your life who are, but I find that if we put in the time to really find something that our loved ones will appreciate on a personal level, the reactions are always worth it.
