The Witchy Housewife

Merry meet again, my darlings! This past year was huge for The Witchy Housewife, and the year ahead promises to be even bigger! Today, I thought I might share a little bit of an update post going over what’s new in the metaphysical shop and library, sharing what’s planned for the year ahead, and – hopefully – getting some insight on what you all would like to see.

A Digital Refresh

As many of my regular visitors may have noticed, the website underwent a complete refresh last year, and, this year, the logo has been updated to reflect the changes in my own art style (as I create all of the artwork for this website myself). My hope for the refresh is that this makes the website more legible and more accessible via mobile. During the year ahead, I would like to open the floor to the readers and customers who regularly use my website – particularly if you are accessing everything through a mobile device. What are your thoughts on the website’s new look? And do you have any ideas to make the design even better? It can be quite difficult to navigate web development in an era where people are accessing your website through a variety of differently sized devices at any given time, so any ideas or suggestions you may have as a reader is extremely important to the website’s development. We may see more minor visual improvements around here as the year progresses.

Along with the website, The Witchy Housewife’s social media platforms have also received a little bit of a refresh. For those unaware, my work for The Witchy Housewife can be found on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube, and Instagram officially. I may also post things for The Witchy Housewife on my personal TikTok and Pinterest accounts from time to time. At this time, I am most active on Tumblr, but I am going to make an effort this year to cross-post the things I post on Tumblr to my other platforms. Additionally, I hope to start posting a lot more frequently to YouTube in the near future. You can see my first official video – a little introduction about who I am and what I plan to share on the channel – on YouTube now. Some of the first content videos will include audio recordings of my articles and a plethora of guided meditations.

I want to take one more moment before moving on to lament the digital space as a creative in the modern era. Besides the struggles of web development I’ve already mentioned, there is an ongoing war against ever-changing algorithms, disingenuous SEO (search engine optimization) practices, increasing levels of online venom and entitlement, unethical business practices among competing shops (which make prices much cheaper), and the oversaturation of AI-generated content. If you value small businesses, authenticity, and human creativity, I beg you to actively seek it out and actively share it when you find it. I am still brainstorming on the potential ways in which we may be able to meaningfully influence the digital culture and landscape.

The Article Library

I spent all of last year working on the Khthonic Wiccan Sabbat Series of articles. This includes a Khthonic Wiccan Guide to Imbolc, Khthonic Wiccan Guide to Ostara, Khthonic Wiccan Guide to Beltane, Khthonic Wiccan Guide to Litha, Khthonic Wiccan Guide to Lammas, Khthonic Wiccan Guide to Mabon, Khthonic Wiccan Guide to Samhain, and Khthonic Wiccan Guide to Yule. Besides my own observations of the sabbats as a Khthonic Wiccan, these articles also detail histories, multicultural historical traditions, sabbat correspondences, ritual ideas, and meal spread ideas. They were a blast to write, and I highly encourage anyone who has not read them to give them a look, particularly if you’re someone who wants to invest more time into observing the sabbats and seasons but are unsure where to begin. You can also find a quick reference to the sabbats over in the Digital Grimoire.

While there has been a little bit of a pause on articles while I work on completing the Digital Grimoire, I did want to share my to-do list for the next couple of articles (the first of which will, hopefully, be live this coming month):

In addition to these articles, I am also going to be resuming work on my Mythos Reimagined Series this year, which will be available to read on my personal website as well as here on The Witchy Housewife and will include an original work tentatively titled Theogony of Khthonic Wicca. Once the Digital Grimoire is completely wrapped up, I will also be diving quite deeply into the Aspects of Self Course, which will be available over in the Garden of Freebies, and my first grimoire in print, Khthonic Wicca.

The Digital Grimoire

The Digital Grimoire is now 50% complete! Here is a quick glance at the progress so far:

As a note, once these sections are fully fleshed out, I will likely be moving things around (if a particular section feels too full, for example; such may be the case for topics like numerology and astrology, which could eventually use their own categories) and expanding the resource as I learn and grow. As I always say, I consider myself an eternal student of the Kosmos, and there is an infinite amount of wisdom to be gained at any given time. Whenever this happens (and whenever a Digital Grimoire page on my current to-do list is completed), I will add a notice to the slider on my homepage, so be sure to check back regularly if you’d like to see the new information added to the website as its shared. Otherwise, the only official notice I give will come when the current to-do list is actually complete, either by social media or another update post or both.

There is also a new Witchy Dictionary page available in the Digital Grimoire now, as well! Here, I will share my personal definitions for any terminology you might come across in spiritual, occult, or otherwise esoteric spaces along with links to any articles or grimoire entries on my website which I may discuss these terms in. I’ll be completing that section more properly when the above pages have been completed. That said, if there are any words you’ve come across in your studies that you’d like me to add to the dictionary, please feel free to contact me. I want my resources here to be as thorough as possible.

Shop Showcase

New products and services are coming to The Witchy Housewife shop this year! First and foremost, I am wrapping up work on my hand-painted psephoi tiles and my first batch of custom magickal blends for candles, incense, soaps, and more. The first batch to arrive will include the Essence of Air, Essence of Fire, Essence of Water, Essence of Earth, Kiss of Tykhe, Arcane Library, Khthonic Khernips, Mati Elixir, Psykhopompos, Manna & Styrax, Torchbearer, Dark Maiden, and Soulkeeper. These are tools and oils I use in my own practice, mind you, with great results. In the realm of services, I will soon be offering exclusive natal chart readings (which include a detailed multi-page analysis and custom drawn chart of both your astrology and your numerology), dream interpretations, and scrying sessions, as well. Be sure to check the shop regularly if you are interested!

Additionally, as the year progresses, I hope to get apparel (including ritual attire), tools, decor, and more in stock. As a reminder, if you are looking for anything in particular that you have been unable to source or have been unable to find at a good price, please free to contact me and I will do my best to stock it or something similar for you! It is my hope that The Witchy Housewife becomes the #1 place for products and information in the esoteric sphere, and if all goes well, I would love to be able to open a physical shop, temple, and office for in-house services with well-paid and well-treated employees who are just as passionate about these things as I am. I would love to make a difference in the way businesses operate by leading by example and showing people the type of treatment they deserve from an employer. Every purchase (and/or donation, if you’re able), every interaction, and every share helps me grow ever closer to this goal. The more support I receive, the more I am able to provide!

My Monthly Blessings Patreon also saw some changes this past year, as Patreon as a platform underwent many changes itself. For those who don’t know, for as little as $4.44 a month, you can receive access to monthly energy forecasts, monthly pick-a-card readings, access to a growing collection of spells and rituals, access to all esoteric research and discussions and insights which aren’t available on The Witchy Housewife, an application for the Court of the Veiling Willow, and more. Each subscription tier offers the same benefits, so feel free to pay whatever you are able and/or whatever amount you feel my work is worth! With the Digital Grimoire pages out of the way, I’ll finally be able to dedicate more time to it this year.

Some Other Things

I would like to introduce you all to a project I’ve been working on having built. This is the first iteration of Chronomagica, your one-stop shop for daily magickal energies. It pulls the location from your browser and gives you the date, time, weather, astrology, planetary hour, and luck (based on the auspicious days as relayed by Hesiodos in his Works and Days). At this time, functionality is limited to that, with a few of the additional buttons serving as placeholders for the moment. There is much more to come with this project, but for now, feel free to use it as needed as your daily energetic calendar.
